NON-CREDIT

Courses taken for non-credit are not transferable to an academic program, or a certificate program. Most students take courses for personal enrichment and normally enroll as non-credit students.

CREDIT

Courses taken for academic credit are transferable to other academic institutions. Students are graded (A-F) and a record of that grade is held in perpetuity in the Registrar's Office. Additional add/drop policies apply. Academic credit is recommended if you are developing a portfolio to apply to a degree program. Students pay "with-credit" tuition and course fees. One semester credit represents 45 contact and/or homework hours work for a semester.

CERTIFICATE

Students seeking a certificate in Fine Art, Graphic Design and Moving Image Arts must add certificate status to each course. Students pay tuition, department fee and $40 per course certificate fee.

BFA COURSE AUDITING

Continuing Education students may take BFA courses for non-credit on a space-available basis and with the permission of the instructor. All interested students must first contact the Academic Advisor at 503.821.8974 for approval to take a course for non-credit.
