On the Road
PNCA MFA student Rebecca Steele and her collaborator, PSU MFA graduate Posie Currin, discuss their project Traveler’s Spirit: On a Collaborative Journey Through Oregon’s High Desert on a recent airing of KBOO’s (90.7FM) Bread and Roses program.
Steele and Currin took a summer road trip to Oregon’s High Desert to examine vulnerability, intuition and exploration. They also documented their journey through the desert and back with film, drawings, painting, and soil samples.
An Intermedia artist Steele’s latest work will be part of a group show at the newly reopened Disjecta on July 19. Currin is also an Intermedia artist with a special interest in sound. Her next show will be in New York at Honey Space.
A feminist news radio collective, Bread and Roses is a weekly show on KBOO FM in Portland, Oregon. The show airs at 6 pm every Friday on 90.7 FM, and is also streamed live on the KBOO Web site.
