Going with the Flow
PNCA Faculty member Modou Dieng’s paintings are currently part of the exhibit Flow at The Studio Museum in Harlem, New York. The New York Times said of Dieng’s work, “[He] evokes the exhilaration and misplaced optimism of 1960s Africa in his trio of wall ensembles made from secondhand vinyl records adorned with neckties and glitter.” The Wall Street Journal said of the show, “The exhibit focuses on the notion of movement — through cultures, continents and mediums. Many of the artists, although they have African heritage, are émigrés living outside of Africa in such cities as London, Paris, Amsterdam, Portland and New York.”
The exhibit runs through June 29 at The Studio Museum.
