The Inventor
Wednesday, April 9
Room 125 | 12:30 pm
Visual artist Melissa Dyne constructs mechanical, musical and optical instruments using simple mechanics, photography and early (often obsolete) technologies. Focusing on the action of a laboratory she uses these inventions to “tune” the architectural space they inhabit—a cinematic performance in the spirit of mise en scène. Dyne has been based in Portland, OR since 2004. Her multimedia installations have been shown in Mexico, China, and the United States.
