Illegal Art: Freedom of Expression in the Corporate Age
In a special collaboration between PICA and PNCA, and initiated by Carrie McLaren of Brooklyn-based Stay Free! magazine, Illegal Art is a traveling art exhibit that conveys the plight of visual artists, filmmakers and musicians who have encountered legal problems over copyright.
Featuring artists David Byrne and Danielle Spencer, Ray Beldner, Packard Jennings, Todd Haynes, and Heidi Cody, the exhibit challenges the concepts of "intellectual property" and free artistic expression, a multi-media exhibition celebrating what is rapidly becoming the “degenerate art” of a corporate age.
Ticket info: Free and open to the public
