Educating creative problem solvers.

Transforming Portland into a world-class creative hub.

Inspiring lifelong learning through continuing education.

Thanks to you, our students learn to think innovatively and act boldly, help local businesses generate creative solutions, and inspire new designs for living and working. PNCA’s Annual Fund supports:

  • 600 BFA and MFA students in innovative educational programs.
  • Year-round continuing education classes for the entire community.
  • Free lectures that bring leading edge artists, designers and thinkers together.

The Wall Street Journal calls Portland the nation’s next art capital and PNCA is at the heart of this transformation.

Your contribution to the Annual Fund helps to inspire imaginations and nurtures the creative culture that sustains us all. Experience an exhibition. Hear an extraordinary artist speak. Sign up for a class to learn a new skill or expand your horizons. Our doors are open. Thank you for being part of PNCA.

Annual Fund Benefit Events

Benefit Art Auction

PNCA’s Benefit Art Auction each winter is one of the College’s signature annual benefits and helps meet the needs of student scholarships and financial assistance. More than 93% of PNCA’s almost 600 BFA and MFA students receive financial aid.

“The excitement and energy of this year’s Benefit Art Auction is a reflection of the community’s support of the College’s mission of graduating student’s into a life of creative practice,” said PNCA Board Chair Ann Edlen. “We are grateful for what this generous support from collectors, donors, artists, and volunteers will mean to so many or our students.”

“The results of helping a young person achieve what they want to do in life are so important. [Art] spreads. It’s not just simmering, it’s boiling over, and it helps society,” said Dorothy Lemelson, who established the Lemelson Scholarship at PNCA. “Anyone who can possibly sponsor students or make an endowment to an institution is doing something that brings satisfaction beyond what they could possibly realize. And so you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck.”

Annual Gala

PNCA’s Annual Gala at the end of each school year celebrates the school’s achievements and raises funds that go directly to students and the community. The celebration also highlights student thesis work.
